Our Beloved Familiar

Good morning!

While this may not seem to be the most important of updates, it's one I consider important making. Some of you may already be familiar with the character of Mo, Eleni's familiar. What you may not know is that Mo was inspired by her real life counterpart, a black and white cat belonging to my friend Bel.

Our resident cowcat has departed this mortal plane, but she lives on in my silly little book. What an honour that is, to have carried a tiny soul into life everlasting. I am so grateful to Bel for allowing me to write Mo into the story, but I am also grateful to Mo for looking after my beloved friend for ten years, for sitting beside her when I physically could not be there. There is something so pure and so magical about the love we share with animals, a love that is not lessened by time or by loss. I will miss her silly little face and her insistent yelling, and I will think of her often for many years to come.
